Irene Cara, Singer, Songwriter and Actress

Irene Cara is a singer, songwriter and actress. As an actress, Irene Cara received the Image Award for Best Actress for her work with Diahann Carroll in the NBC Movie of the Week, Sisters. She received an NAACP Image Award Nomination for her portrayal of Myrlie Evers in the PBS movie on Civil Rights Leader Medger Evers “For Us the Living." For Flashdance Irene Cara won 5 major awards, including Top Female Vocalist-Pop Singles and Pop Single of the Year. As a songwriter her talent earned her an Academy Award, 2 Grammys, a Golden Globe and a Peoples Choice Award for Flashdance. Irene Cara was the first African American female to win since Hattie McDaniel in 1939, plus the first Hispanic female since Rita Moreno and the first bi-racial female ever to win in any category - pre-dating Halle Berry by nearly 20 years.

David Pack the Lead Singer/Writer/Guitarist for the legendary band, Ambrosia. David is also a respected solo artist and Grammy winning producer and music director of special events, including both of President Clinton's inaugurations. In addition to Ambrosia, David has been a key collaborator in the music industry. He is well known for his duet with Bette Midler on multiplatinum Beaches soundtrack on Atlantic, and collaborated and performed with Michael McDonald & James Ingram on “Maria” from The Songs Of West Side Story; Wynonna on “Why Now” track from The Other Side CD. He wrote and sang with GRP keyboard artist David Benoit’s Top 5 AC hit “The Key To You,” as well as “Prove Me Wrong” for movie score and multiplatinum soundtrack to White Nights, starring Mikhail Baryshnikov & Gregory Hines on Atlantic. He performed guest vocals for Quincy Jones, James Ingram, Kansas, .38 Special, Michael McDonald, Doobie Bros., Pat Simmons, Andrae Crouch, Larry Carlton. He wrote & sang 3 tracks on Alan Parsons “Try Anything Once” Arista CD and was the guest vocalist on Al Stewart’s legendary “Year Of The Cat” and “Time Passages” albums.
